We are still looking for someone to coach our girls middle school basketball team this season!
Here are the details:
- 📅 Season: October 5 – November 23
- 🏀 12 games total
- 💰 Compensation: $1,800
We really need to find a coach, or unfortunately, we will not be able to offer a middle school season this year.
Most importantly, this is about getting kids involved, building confidence, learning the game, and having fun!
You will also have plenty of support from our varsity head coach, Dena Smith, who will be available to help with anything you may need throughout the season.
If you or someone you know might be interested, please reach out! And feel free to share this post to help us find the right person.
Please contact Branden Mueller at bmueller@rladvantage.org if you have any questions!

This week our elementary students had the chance to step outside the classroom and into the greenhouse at Nourish Farms for a hands-on Farm-to-Table field trip!
Students got their hands dirty while exploring the farm, planting and harvesting, and learning about the different steps involved in growing food. They also headed into the kitchen, where they used fresh ingredients to make a delicious snack to enjoy!
Experiences like this help bring classroom learning to life. Students were able to see the process firsthand, ask questions, work together, and make connections between the food they grow and the food that ends up on their tables. It’s a great way to build knowledge through real-world, hands-on learning.
Thank you to Nourish Farms for welcoming our students and providing such a meaningful learning experience!

We are looking back at an incredible adventure from July!
Four Random Lake High School agriculture students/Random Lake FFA members, two Random Lake High School parents, and Ms. Rathke spent a week exploring the Land of Fire and Ice—ICELAND! 🌋❄️
The group traveled the Golden Circle, visiting Thingvellir National Park, Gullfoss Waterfall, and the Geysir geothermal area. They also toured a greenhouse powered by geothermal and hydroelectric energy and got to see Icelandic horses up close.
They experienced the power of Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss waterfalls and visited the famous black sand beaches of Vík, where they learned about the dangers of “sneaker waves.”
Students took part in hands-on learning at the state-of-the-art Lava Centre and toured the Hellisheiði Geothermal Power Plant.
To top off the adventure, they went whale watching and enjoyed a dip in the Blue Lagoon!
What an amazing opportunity for our students to learn, explore, and experience a whole new part of the world!
