Class Spotlight: Middle School Auto Smarts, taught by Mr. Ruege

Auto Smarts is a hands-on, confidence-building class that gives middle school students a practical introduction to how cars work—and how to take care of them. Students explore the basics of vehicle safety, routine maintenance, and problem-solving in real-world scenarios.

Through teamwork and critical thinking, this course helps students build valuable life skills and feel empowered long before they ever sit in the driver’s seat.

At Random Lake, we’re always looking for creative ways to bring authentic experiences into our classrooms! Recently, Spanish 1 students put their skills into action by creating their own “tiendas,” where they practiced bargaining using vocabulary from their clothing unit.

Students were assessed on their vocabulary knowledge, as well as their productive and receptive communication skills—and even their ability to think on their feet and communicate in challenging situations.

Welcome to Flashback Friday! Today we’re heading back to Elementary PE, where Mrs. Traas brought the Winter Olympics to life for her students.

Our young athletes competed in their own Olympic-style events, including curling, cross-country skiing, and skeleton, filling the gym with energy, excitement, and lots of smiles.

It was a fun and creative way to celebrate movement, teamwork, and the spirit of the games—and the students loved every minute of it!

We are also in need of a certified lifeguard—all necessary equipment will be provided, and the position pays $20/hour.

The Hatchet Club and American Wilderness Science class took their learning to the outdoor classroom, mastering the art of making a classic campfire treat—pudgy pies! Students not only learned the recipe but also enjoyed quality time together around the campfires.

On March 9, our National Honor Society partnered with Versiti to host a blood drive—and our community showed up in an incredible way!

We welcomed 25 donors and collected 18 whole blood units along with 1 double red cell donation, totaling 20 lifesaving blood products. Because of this generosity, up to 60 local patients may benefit from these donations.

Thank you to everyone who donated and helped make this event a success. Your willingness to give truly makes a difference! ❤️
