There's been a lot happening during the first week of Session 2 Summer School! Students have been exploring, creating, competing, and learning in so many different ways.
One classroom was cooking, another was out geocaching. Some students were sharpening their strategy with board games, others were playing sports and outdoor games, learning about economics, or getting ready for first grade this fall.
No two days—or classrooms—look exactly the same, and that's what makes summer school so much fun.

Before school got out for the summer, students from the Random Lake High School National Honor Society and Middle School Leadership Group came together for an incredible shoe drive, collecting and donating more than 750 pairs of shoes to families in need.
Thanks to the generosity of our school community, and with additional support from the Random Lake FFA, which used a portion of its funds to purchase and donate new shoes, this effort made an even greater impact.
All donated shoes were provided to Shoe 4 Africa, helping bring footwear to individuals and families who need it most.
We are proud of our students for demonstrating leadership, compassion, and a commitment to serving others—both locally and around the world. Thank you to everyone who contributed to the success of this meaningful project!

Whether it was helping a classmate, including someone at recess, or simply brightening someone's day, these moments were celebrated and shared for all to see.

Interested in aviation or STEM careers? High school students ages 13–18 are invited to AviationTech at the EAA Youth Education Center on July 21 or July 23, 2026.
Students will get hands-on experience with flight test engineering, circuitry and soldering, Arduino coding, and project assembly while building their own Wi-Fi-enabled METAR airport map souvenir.
Rotations begin every 30 minutes starting at 9:00 a.m. CDT, and the full experience takes about an hour.

The first two weeks flew by and were filled with learning, laughter, creativity, and plenty of fun. Our students stayed busy with hands-on activities, time outdoors, new experiences, and lots of opportunities to connect with friends.

The RLO girls soccer team took the field Friday morning in the state semifinal and fell 4-0 to defending state champion Xavier.
This team battled until the very end and continued to show up for one another all season long. Despite being down two starters and losing another player to injury early in the match, they never stopped competing.
We are incredibly proud of this team and everything they accomplished this season.
Thank you to the coaches and players for an unforgettable run and for bringing the entire RLO community along for the ride.

In May, McKenzie graduated from Lakeshore College with Presidential Honors, an honor reserved for students who maintain a perfect 4.0 GPA, and earned an Associate of Applied Science in Business Management.
