What a great start to Summer School at Random Lake!
The first two weeks flew by and were filled with learning, laughter, creativity, and plenty of fun. Our students stayed busy with hands-on activities, time outdoors, new experiences, and lots of opportunities to connect with friends.
Thank you to our teachers and staff for making Summer School Session 1 such a positive experience for our students. It's been great seeing so many smiling faces and excited learners each day.

The RLO girls soccer team took the field Friday morning in the state semifinal and fell 4-0 to defending state champion Xavier.
This team battled until the very end and continued to show up for one another all season long. Despite being down two starters and losing another player to injury early in the match, they never stopped competing.
We are incredibly proud of this team and everything they accomplished this season.
Thank you to the coaches and players for an unforgettable run and for bringing the entire RLO community along for the ride.

Before crossing the stage at Random Lake High School, Class of 2026 Valedictorian McKenzie Nejedlo had already earned a college degree.
In May, McKenzie graduated from Lakeshore College with Presidential Honors, an honor reserved for students who maintain a perfect 4.0 GPA, and earned an Associate of Applied Science in Business Management.

The other weekend, our Girls on the Run participants celebrated the culmination of months of hard work at American Family Field!
Since winter, Mrs. Kusowski and Mrs. Vanden Heuvel have guided our 3rd–5th graders through lessons focused on physical activity, confidence, emotional well-being, healthy relationships, and empathy. Sunday’s event was a celebration of their growth, perseverance, and accomplishments.
We are so proud of these amazing students and grateful for the dedication of our staff leaders!

I want to thank the Wisconsin Association of School Boards (WASB) for giving us the opportunity to share the Random Lake story and highlight the incredible work happening in our schools and community. This article is really about a simple idea: students do not just need content, they need experiences that connect learning to purpose, relationships, and the world around them.
What makes this work special is that it is not driven by a single program or person. It is driven by a community willing to step forward and help raise kids together. From businesses opening their doors to mentors investing their time, this only works because people believe students deserve more than a traditional experience.
