Hello, RLSD! Just a reminder that there is no school Friday, April 18 or Monday, April 21. We will see you back in the classroom on Tuesday, April 22! Enjoy the long weekend!

Our 5th graders recently visited Gables on the Pond, spreading smiles and making connections. It’s moments like these that remind us how lucky we are to be part of a supportive community. 💙 #RLAdvantage #Ramily

Last Friday, the Random Lake Hatchet Club took four of our members to the Wisconsin State Envirothon near Stevens Point. There, they competed in hands-on assessments in aquatic ecology, forestry, soil science, and wildlife. The team also gave a group presentation to a panel of judges, offering solutions to a real-world environmental challenge.
Out of more than 20 teams, they placed 4th overall and took 3rd place in the group presentation! Congrats to Mya, Silas, Spencer, and Xavier!
This is just one of the many awesome opportunities made possible by the funds raised through raffles at the Conservation Fair. Thank you for your support!

Happy Monday! Here’s what’s happening this week, Go Rams!

Here’s an update on our construction project! Furniture has arrived for the new library and surrounding spaces, and things are really starting to come together. We can’t wait for students and staff to enjoy these updated areas!

Taylor Meyer is putting in the work on her welding project in Metals class. It's been a great chance to get hands-on and build some real skills!

Our fourth graders took a step back in time during their visit to the Sheboygan County Historical Society last Friday! As part of their unit on immigration to Wisconsin, students explored what it was like to journey to the U.S.—especially to Sheboygan County—and took part in plenty of hands-on learning along the way.

Big thanks to Detective Joel Frias for speaking with Mr. Jones’ “Intro to Public Safety” class!
Detective Frias, who serves in the Village of Worth (a southwest suburb of Chicago), shared insights from his law enforcement journey and involvement with several task forces in the south suburban area.
A key takeaway for students: “Stay humble, and remain teachable!”
We appreciate the real-world perspective and advice!

Take a look at our second graders learning all about Character Ed with Mrs. Riechers! Love seeing them grow and learn together.

Earlier this week, CAPP Biology 🧬 ventured to the BTC Institute in Fitchburg to explore protein production and gene expression in E. coli bacteria 🧫. Students made E. coli glow in the dark and induced it to produce one of the enzymes used in medications like Lactaid!

Don’t forget—the Book Fair is happening now!

Last week, our 2nd grade students enjoyed a fun and informative presentation from Dairy Farmers of Wisconsin! They learned how cows produce milk, how it’s collected, and explored all the amazing things made from milk. The best part? Sampling delicious cheeses! A big thank you to the Mentink family for making this experience possible!

Mrs. Grubisic attended the 2025 WEMTA (Wisconsin Educational Media & Technology Association) Conference on March 9–11 in Brookfield. Besides attending nine one-hour sessions about online information evaluation, library program planning, etc., Mrs. Grubisic was fortunate to meet three spectacular authors—Ruta Sepetys, Steve Sheinkin, and Jerry Craft!
Ruta is known for writing historical fiction for young adults, while Steve Sheinkin primarily writes nonfiction. Jerry Craft is best known for his Newbery-winning graphic novel New Kid.
