Happy Veterans Day and Happy Birthday America!
The School District of Random Lake is proud and honored to host two very special events for our veterans.
The Dinner: The School District of Random Lake is proud to host the 2nd annual Veterans Dinner on Tuesday, November 10th. While last year we hosted only Random Lake Alumni Veterans, this year any veteran may attend with a reservation made by October 23rd. Each veteran and guest will be served a catered meal on linens at no cost thanks to a very generous community donor. Last year’s dinner delivered great stories both of school and service experiences. Dinner will be served in front of the school’s Wall of Honor which lists the almost 500 names of veterans from the Random Lake area going back to the Civil War.
The Veterans Day Program: Please join us on Wednesday, November 11th, at 9am, for the School District of Random Lake's Veterans Day Program. Students of all grades will be coming together during this celebration of Veterans Day and America’s birthday. Elementary students will be singing and leading the Pledge of Allegiance. Middle school students will narrate a slideshow celebrating our country’s birth. The high school band and choir will be performing. We are honored to have a guest speaker from the Wisconsin Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution, someone whose ancestor actually fought in the American Revolution. And of course, all veterans in attendance will be individually recognized. This has become a very special tradition for our school.
