Community Service Day is a very important day for the Random Lake High School Staff and Students, which we participated in on Sep, 20th, 2023. High School Counselor, Mr. Frias, was willing to talk about the importance of this day and explained, “The goal for community service day is to give back to our strong community and provide students a chunk of the day to do so”. Having this day allows us to focus on what's important for this community. Examples of our many activities are: visiting Gables on the Pond to play games, highway clean up, blanket making for hospitals, Fitness Center/ P.E. closet deep clean, outside trail clearing, etc.
A great highlight of this day was visiting Gables on the Pond to play games. The residents there were super appreciative of the visit and were glad to have company from the Random Lake High School students for the day. We had very good chats with all of them. In particular Pearl, Joann, and Sylvia (residents) were telling us, “Gables is a very nice and welcoming community”. We had so much fun joining them in a game of bingo and hope to visit them again soon! Community service day has been a tradition for a few years and we look forward to it next year.
