Meet the New District Administrator
Interviews for a new District Administrator have been taking place at the Random Lake School District for the past month. The Board recently appointed Mr. Michael E. Trimberger Jr. as the new District Administrator. Mike will begin working in this capacity on July 1st. He will replace current administrator Tom Malmstadt, who announced last year that he would be retiring at the end of the 2016-17 school year.
“I look forward to working with Mike to continue our progress and focus on what’s best for the children of our district and anticipate setting new board and district goals for the future,” states Jennifer Stevens, Random Lake School Board Member.
Trimberger began his 18 year career at Wilmot Union High School and then spent two years at Sheboygan Falls Middle School teaching special education. He then moved to the Sheboygan School system, beginning as a Emotional/Behavioral Disabilities Teacher for middle school students. In 2007, he moved into the role of assistant principal at Farnsworth Middle School, beginning his administrative experience. Trimberger also served as principal at Sheridan Elementary School and most recently as principal of the Sheboygan South High School.
Trimberger currently resides in Sheboygan with his wife Taffani and their child Elise. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Secondary Special Education from Silver Lake College in Manitowoc, WI and Master’s of Science in Educational Leadership from Cardinal Stritch University in Milwaukee. He also earned a Certificate as a Leadership Coach Instructor and is scheduled to propose for his PhD from UW-Milwaukee in Fall 2017.
During his 15 year career, Trimberger has helped to implement PBIS (Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports), built Career Pathways that helped raise over $5 million for new facilities and equipment, created close ties to community to support student learning, and played a role in moving a formerly targeted school to one that now scores towards the top of State Report Cards.
Trimberger has been very involved in the local community. He currently is a member of the Sheboygan Chamber of Commerce Business Education Partnership committee, is the current President and Co-Founder of INSPIRE Sheboygan County, as well as a current member and co-founder of the National Coalition of Career Development.
Trimberger has been recognized for many accomplishments including receiving the 2016 Herb Kohl Leadership Award, the 2016 Sheboygan County Golden Apple Award, 2015 Wisconsin Principal of the Year finalist, 2014 Sheboygan Area School District Administrator of the Year, and 2013 U.S. Dept of Education Principal Fellowship finalist.
“Mike’s experience with organizing new opportunities for students within the workforce and building relationships throughout Sheboygan County will be an asset for Random Lake, states Jena Schneider, Random Lake Board Member.
