What is a Transcript and How is it Used?

A transcript is a copy of a student’s permanent record and is used for various applications including: post-secondary school admission, obtaining employment, procuring scholarships, military enlistment and security clearance investigations.

Official Transcript vs. Unofficial Transcript?

An official transcript carries the school seal and a school official’s signature. Official transcripts will be provided in a sealed envelope to assure authenticity. Students may access their unofficial transcript in Infinite Campus under the "reports" tab.

Current Students Requesting Transcripts

Transcript requests are normally processed within 48 hours during the school year, but may take up to two weeks during the summer. Any student currently enrolled at Random Lake High School will be required to pick up requested transcripts in the Counseling Office (September-May) or in the Random Lake High School Office (June-August). Students will be emailed when their transcript request has been processed and is ready to be picked up. Students are responsible for providing postage and mailing any transcripts/ACT scores requested. A note for current students applying to colleges through the Common Application: no transcript request is needed for any colleges listed in the Common Application. The transcript will be uploaded directly into the Common Application through the counselor portal.
